Hmm..I was just reminded today of what an imperfect entity the internet still is. In attempting to track down Brave Combo, I have had several odd events happen. But first!! I went to a local shop-All Ears that has a TON of used vinyl.. NOT ONE PIECE by BC. No CD..no nothin'! I'm not sure what that means. I did get a Laugh In LP as well as two Ronco collections. Those things are the best!
BUT.. I purchased an LP on E-bay. Pay with paypal! Yippee! Well, apparantly Paypal keeps your information FO-EVAH! I haven't used them in AGES, no longer have the e-mail addy on file, am not at the same address, and don't even have the same phone number! The only way to retrieve my password is to have them mail it to me! With luck the seller will work with me.

THEN.. I went to half.com to purchase a CD. Somewhere in the buying process I shut down explorer. I came back, tried to click on the CD to buy it, and it said it was purchased! Hmm.. not by me! Makes me curious. I could buy another copy, but I'd rather wait and see if the one I clicked on comes back. I was sort of hoping to have something by my next show this Friday, but I don't think I'll have any luck. I have a feeling that this is a group that would be best found at Barnes and Noble or Borders! I always go there (and pay a bit extra) for some of the harder to find stuff.

Live and learn! No cool links today. Too busy working..

Wow. What an incredible web page. This explains many right wing philosophies as well as operating strategies. Do you wonder why unemployment goes up? Do you wonder why taxes are lessened against those well to do and corporate overlords? This site offers a FASCINATING look at Republican ideologies, and it's really quite disturbing. Here is a quote..

"Cheap-labor conservative" is a moniker they will never shake, and never live down. Because it's exactly what they are. You see, cheap-labor conservatives are defenders of corporate America – whose fortunes depend on labor. The larger the labor supply, the cheaper it is. The more desperately you need a job, the cheaper you'll work, and the more power those "corporate lords" have over you. If you are a wealthy elite – or a "wannabe" like most dittoheads – your wealth, power and privilege is enhanced by a labor pool, forced to work cheap.

Don't believe me. Well, let's apply this principle, and see how many right-wing positions become instantly understandable.

Cheap-labor conservatives don't like social spending or our "safety net". Why. Because when you're unemployed and desperate, corporations can pay you whatever they feel like – which is inevitably next to nothing. You see, they want you "over a barrel" and in a position to "work cheap or starve".
Cheap-labor conservatives don't like the minimum wage, or other improvements in wages and working conditions. Why. These reforms undo all of their efforts to keep you "over a barrel"

Fascinating stuff.. It's so refreshing to see a well thought out article like that...

Egads! It turns out an old friend from high school reads this! Naturally, if mentioned, he must be addressed with the highest regard! Actually, after many years of silence, as we all lived our own lives, I managed to touch base with him. I have to admit, that for a while I felt like an incredible underachiever, as I may have mentioned before. Of my three best friends from C-U, one is programming software, one is working at a university library, and the other is a FREAKIN' physics professor! Kinda makes things seem piddly for me, but since then I have become re-energized in my projects. I am determined to see the production work through as shown with the piece I linked to earlier. In the long run I wouldn't mind working on projects that are a little more meaningful, but this is a good start. What's even better is that there may already be a job opportunity soon! I'll wait and see on that. The key now is to STOP PROCRASTINATING.. as in ENTER STUFF IN THE BLOG already!

Ah.. well....
in the end...
it's not bad bein' me!
